Developing a Character in MOO

Role play in online communities has been the subject of much discussion ever since they first came online in the mid-1980s. Developing a character in MOO can be great fun. It can also be a useful way to explore characterisation for writing.Even as a guest, you are able to set your description and gender.

describing who you are

@describe me as <description>
@describe <object> as <description>

You can be quite creative in your descriptions. The more detail you give, the more others will be able to have a mental picture of the person you are portraying.

E.G.
	@describe me as A dryad of the willow variety.

Anyone now using the look command to view DragonFly will now see this description in the right hand pane of the browser

defining your gender

@gender
@gender <gender>

You're not limited to the boring old sexes of real life in MOO. You have a choice of 5 genders all with their own pronouns. To get a list of available genders, type @gender in the text box and a list will scroll up with your choices. If you want to assign one to your character type @gender followed by the gender of your choice.

E.G.
	@gender
	Available genders: neuter, male, female, either, Spivak, splat, plural, egotistical, royal, or 2nd
